Participants from adult learning and education practice and research spent the afternoon exploring questions about the future in a playful way and reflecting on them together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Introduction and thematic framework<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After a joint lunch, Helen Buchs (responsible for TRANSIT) and Sabin M\u00fcller (moderator and former responsible for TRANSIT) opened the event with a future warm-up based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/fr\/publications\/plus-de-publications\/\">TRANSIT future questions<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.diedigitalwerkstatt.de\/produkt\/future-skill-kartenset\/\">set of future skills cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_1-1024x768.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4045\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_1-1024x768.png 1024w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_1-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_1-768x576.png 768w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_1-1536x1152.png 1536w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_1-2048x1536.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A brief introduction to the fourth <a href=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/fr\/publications\/rapports-de-tendance\/\">TRANSIT trend report<\/a>, \u00ab\u00a0Future Skills and the Future of Adult Learning\u00a0\u00bb, highlighted the report&rsquo;s key findings on future skills. It emphasised that future skills are not only about individuals adapting to a changing world, but can also be understood as a collective resource for shaping the future of societies. Upon arrival, participants received a freshly printed poster summarising the most important content of the trend report in a concise, clear and inspiring manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-reduced-width is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"779\" height=\"584\" src=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/transit-plakat-edited.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4022\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/transit-plakat-edited.jpg 779w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/transit-plakat-edited-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/transit-plakat-edited-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 779px) 100vw, 779px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Playing and reflecting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The afternoon focused on trying out three different games:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/nextskills.org\/de\/playground\/das-future-skills-kartenset\/\"><strong>Future Skills card set<\/strong>:<\/a> stimulated discussions about future skills. Participants emphasised that the card set is suitable for workshops and teamwork.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/berliner-ideenlabor.de\/zukunftstrends\"><strong>Future Trends Card Set<\/strong><\/a>: presented key trends for discussion. The variety of cards and the appealing visualisation were particularly appreciated. Participants identified potential applications in team development and educational processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zukunftsinstitut-workshop.de\/megatrend-work-kit\/\"><strong>Megatrend Work Kit<\/strong><\/a><strong>: <\/strong>provided access to overarching social developments. Participants praised the topicality of the themes, the concrete scenarios and how it encouraged of strategic thinking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After each round of the game, the groups recorded their reflections in writing. This toolbox aims to strengthen continuing education as a means of social transformation, enabling individuals to develop responses to key social challenges. The aim is to make continuing education more forward-looking and innovative while promoting adults&rsquo; ability to take action, enabling them to actively work towards a sustainable society. Specifically, the toolbox will offer a combination of knowledge, methods, and playful activities. It will inspire participants and provide them with practical tools that can be used in various contexts of adult education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants at the event contributed concrete suggestions to this vision:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the combinationof analogue and digital elementsto address different learning approaches,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>game and workshop ideas with different levelsfor flexible target group work,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reflection aidsand questions for assessing current status and setting goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They also discussed the role of TRANSIT, from train-the-trainer programmes and quality assurance of materials, to establishing a network of interested individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_26-768x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_26-768x1024.png 768w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_26-225x300.png 225w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_26-1152x1536.png 1152w, https:\/\/thinktank-transit.ch\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2025\/10\/290925_Transit_26-scaled.png 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The event showed that games are an effective way of starting discussions about future skills and trends. They make complex topics more tangible and encourage shared visioning and reflection.
