Our Topics

The TRANSIT think tank dedicates itself to a new focus topic approximately every year. The topic should be significant for the future of adult learning and education. It provides the framework for the questions and discussions that TRANSIT pursues. At the end of each focus topic, a trend report summarises the contents and outlines future perspectives for adult learning and education.
In a survey, the community has the opportunity to suggest new topics to the TRANSIT team, to vote on the topic suggestions and to point to particularly important aspects. On the basis of the survey, the TRANSIT team then selects the new topic.

Focus Topics

In the Focus Topic section, we briefly discuss how developments in society and the world of work might in future influence adult learning. We formulate perspectives and ask questions that prompt the various actors in adult education to reflect on their own role in the transformation process. The contributions refer to the current focus topic of the Think Tank.

Dialogues

In the dialogues on the future of adult education, we talk with experts from different academic disciplines. Their knowledge is intended to help us understand developments in the field of adult education in a broader context. However, scientists and academics from the field of adult education also have their say. They contribute to reflecting on the practice.

Short Posts

In our Short Posts, the TRANSIT team will present subjective impressions, interesting developments or visionary ideas in short contributions. Guest contributions from the TRANSIT community are also possible. The contributions are intended to stimulate further reading and thinking. They do not claim to be comprehensive or scientifically sound. We hope you enjoy reading them.
